Cervizzi’s Martial Arts Academy®(CMAA) opened its doors in August of 1995. Since that time we have sustained tremendous growth and currently occupy a state of the art martial arts facility located at 61-65 Woodside Ave. in Winthrop center. We also opened the doors of two other karate schools in the last five years and have had continued success with both schools. Our Lynnfield facility located at 5 Post Office Square and North Reading Facility located at 6 Washington Street and have had sensational response and support from the community. We opened the doors of each of our facilities with the philosophy of providing the best self-defense education, mind building, and body conditioning experience around, and we are motivated to continue this purpose for years to come.

Philosophy

We at CMAA firmly believe that martial arts training can and should be a way of life, while learning how to defend one’s self. Development of the whole person is at the root of training at CMAA. Whether a student is three years of age or in his or her seventies, our philosophy is the same. The purpose of The Cervizzi Self Defense Systemis to develop and facilitate the student in the belief system that anything is possible to accomplish. Self-esteem, Self-confidence, creative thinking, empowerment, and other life skills is what the student will receive as a result of his or her training at CMAA. Whether you want to see your child focus better, or as an adult student; have peace and serenity in your life, our program will assist you in this endeavor. Martial Arts at CMAA is more than just learning how to punch and kick. It is about character development.

Community

It has always been our initiative to encourage community outreach because “It is much more rewarding to give than to receive.” We have always been driven by the motto of “giving back to the community.” This notion is exemplified by the many charitable contributions and volunteer programs conducted by CMAA. Some of the programs offered have been flight attendant safety courses, stranger danger programs, community demonstrations, and self defense seminars.
